A Space to Talk Things Through

I offer confidential individual counselling in Port Adelaide. Our 1 hour sessions are shaped around you — your pace, your needs, and what you want to focus on.
If you are looking for support for someone under 21 - please see Youth Counselling.

When Adult Counselling Can Help
People often seek support when:
☀︎ Stress or worry feels constant
☀︎ Relationships feel draining or complicated
☀︎ Coping habits aren’t working
☀︎ Anxiety, withdrawal or irritability keeps showing up
☀︎ You need space to talk things through — even when the situation can’t change
We’re here whenever you need to talk—at a pace that feels right for you.
How Counselling Works
When we meet for the first time it will be in a room that provides confidentiality so that we can speak freely. We will begin our first session with an explanation of formalities, including details such as session timings, paperwork, my role, your role, confidentiality etc.
Next, the focus is understanding what’s going on for you. This is your space, your time, and we go at your pace.
Growth is a process. Many people find that 3–6 Counselling sessions give them the space and support needed to create lasting change. Our therapeutic relationship doesn’t end there — my door is always open if you wish to return for further support or a check-in when life feels challenging.
I encourage you to reach out to me, if you would like support.
Walk-and-Talk Counselling – Southern Suburbs
In addition to our counselling space in Port Adelaide, we also offer individual walk-and-talk counselling sessions for the southern community, meeting fortnightly on Friday at Port Noarlunga Jetty.
This option provides a more informal, outdoor setting for those who feel more comfortable talking while walking or sitting nearby on the esplanade. Sessions remain confidential, supportive, and focused on what feels right for you.

FAQ
Q: What if I don’t know exactly how to start the conversation?
A: That’s completely okay. Counselling can start with how things feel rather than having the “right words.”
Q: How do I know if counselling with Cheryl is the right fit?
A: Feeling safe, heard, and comfortable matters. If you’re unsure, you’re welcome to reach out with questions before booking.
Q: Is counselling only for people in crisis?
A: No. Many people come to counselling because things feel heavy, confusing, or harder to cope with — not because they’re at breaking point.
